Help Contribute To Our Success
Volunteer for the Local Leadership Team
Board Members
To begin, we are on the lookout for new board members, with the election taking place in May. If you have interest (or know someone who might) in being a part of this fabulous leadership team, please email us @: lwvlaplata@gmail.com.
Membership
In June, our incredible Membership Chair will be stepping aside, we need to fill her shoes and are hoping you may be the perfect person or persons (these roles can be shared) to take this vital role on. We are also in need of members at large, if you have a bit of time and energy to donate to the League, we’d be grateful for your participation.
Volunteer for Local Voter Outreach and Education
If serving on the board this year is not of interest, please participate as a member in any way possible. We will be holding several voter education forums and meetings as well as voter registration drives around the county, and we will need help with coordination of these events. We will need assistance with delivery of Get Out the Vote signs and there will be signature collection drives to organize, as well as public outreach and communications roles to fill. Please join us—the success of our endeavors our depends on your participation. Email us at: lwvlaplata@gmail.com to let us know how you want to help!
Volunteer for State Task Forces and Working Groups
If getting involved locally doesn’t suit, please note that we are also in need of members to join various LWVCO State task forces. The following are individual task forces and members may participate as schedules permit:
• Alternative voting methods
• Climate emergency
• Education
• Gun violence prevention
• Healthcare
• Housing
• News access and literacy
• Reproductive freedom
Email us at: lwvlaplata@gmail.com to let us know which task force you are interested in!
Having local members attend these meetings online ensures our local voices are heard and reporting back is very helpful in keeping our local league abreast of the goings on at the State level.
Here’s to a productive and effective 2024!
