Book Club

March 16 – The 1619 Project: A Visual Experience by Nikole Hannah-Jones. This illustrated book features 7 chapters from the original book featuring artwork supporting an argument for a new black origin story that begins with the arrival of slaves in August of 1619. Trump banned the book during his first term. The 1619 Project is also a six part docuseries created for Hulu.

The LWV La Plata Book Club meets the third Monday of every month at 10:30 at Durango Joes on College.

  • All are welcome to attend to check us out, but we ask that you join the League if you want to keep coming.
