DESCRIPTION:March 16 – The 1619 Project: A Visual Experience by Nikole Hannah-Jones. This illustrated book features 7 chapters from the original book featuring artwork supporting an argument for a new black origin story that begins with the arrival of slaves in August of 1619. Trump banned the book during his first term. The 1619 Project is also a six part docuseries created for Hulu. \n \nThe LWV La Plata Book Club meets the third Monday of every month at 10:30 at Durango Joes on College. \n\nAll are welcome to attend to check us out\, but we ask that you join the League if you want to keep coming.\nPlease park on the side streets.
