The LWV advocates or lobbies on issues or causes when there is an existing League position that supports the issue or speaks to the cause. Local, state, and national positions result from a process of study, and positions are developed only when members reach consensus (the overall decision-making process by which substantial agreement among members is reached on an issue). Members are not required to agree with all League positions.

During this critical period before the Nov 3, 2020 election,
Legislation Advocacy and Action of The League of Women Voters of La Plata County
has focused on two major initiatives.

First, support for Proposition 113 - The national Popular Vote

Second, support for Amendment B - Repeal of the Gallagher Amendment

We are proud to see that both of these initiatives PASSED in Colorado.
LWV La Plata thanks you for making this happen.
We will be tracking the roll-out of these initiatives...
